HYSSOP TRIO (sometimes quartet)

HyssopTrio comes to the Musical Offering with compositions by Vibraphonist Kathy Kelly and guitarist Casey Nielsen. Inspired by the music of the world and the natural world Hyssop Trio is a sensitive flowing trio flowering from the jazz tradition.

Zinnia

Zinnia is the zine and music project between writer Nancy Nichols and her son, Chicago guitarist and composer Casey Nielsen. In their live performances, improvised music provides a soundtrack to Nichol’s live readings and each story inspires its own designated composition performed after each reading.

This past October, Zinnia performed three zines as well as some poetry at The CheckOut in Chicago.
